Description:

You have been raised from the grave by Zeus to rescue his daughter from an evil, bald magician. At the end of each level, "evil baldy" appears and takes your power-ups away. The scoundrel also turns the daughter into a pigeon or something. As you collect more power-ups you gain more muscles and eventually you will transform into a beast -- a different one each level. These beasts are: a werewolf, a flying weredragon, a werebear, a weretiger and finally the Golden Werewolf. After the evil magician has been defeated on the fifth level, Zeus' daughter will appear as a bird and then change back to her normal self again.

Technical:

Altered Beast PCB (from ebay)
This game uses the Sega System 16 system and must be plugged into an adaptor board to be played in a JAMMA cabinet. Attached to this adaptor are a volume potentiometer, a test switch, and a service switch. Several games by Sega made at this time can also use the same JAMMA adaptor as well, such as Aurail (1990), ESWAT: Cyber Police (1988), Golden Axe (1989), M.V.P. (1989), Passing Shot (1988), Quartet (1987), Riot City (1991), Shinobi (1987), and Tetris (1988). This game uses dip switches and a Free Play setting is available.

About My Game:

I purchased this game on August 24, 2007. It was sold as untested (which I typically don't buy) by the same guy who I bought the American Horseshoes game from. Since he could combine shipping I bought it anyway. I am betting that it does work although these games are known to have the thier sound disapear when the battery on the Z80 dies so I may need to fix that. This will be the third System 16 game in my collection.

Repair Log:
08-24-07
Purchased game on eBay, waiting for it to arrive. It will be going in the System 16 cab when I find a spot for it.

09-02-07
Repaired the caps on the daughter board and the tested in my ESWAT cab. The sprites were corrupt so I reseeded the chips and daughter board. Re-tested and working great.
