The NEO GEO Collection
NEO GEO MV-4F pcb
NEO GEO is a cartridge based system launched in 1990 by SNK. There are two different versions of the cartridges and systems, the MVS or Multi Video System used for arcade games and the AES or Advanced Entertainment System used in the home game systems. The two are not compatible as they require different pinouts. NEO GEO launched in arcades in 1990 and there are several different versions of the game boards. There is a one game board (that has several different versions itself), a two game board, the four game MV-4F, and a six game board. The arcade cabinets came with an eight way joystick and had four buttons. The board uses a slightly modified JAMMA pinout.

My NEO GEO collection consits of the four game MV-4F main board. I currently do not own any NEO GEO cartridges. NEO-GEO.com seems to be the site of choice for collectors. More information about the NEO GEO can be found at HardMVS.com. Witchboard from the OC-OC forum runs the Neo-Geo MVS Mini-Marquee Archive which is a collection of scans of original marquee inserts.
